Research Assistant Position
Fieldwork in St Andrews
Spring 2020
We are recruiting one or two volunteer field assistants for two 10 week positions. The first, April to June 2020, and the second June to August. There is the possibility for one position to cover all the 20 weeks, or for multiple field assistants to cover sections. The first position will entail field work which will involve checking nestboxes and recording breeding behaviour, for example when building starts, eggs are laid, hatching and fledging, and some office work for example processing nest photos. The second position will predominantly include office work and analysing nests.
Ideal applicants will be interested in biology, enthusiastic and hard working. You must be fluent in English and be willing to work outdoors in variable weather conditions. This position is unpaid, but there is a possibility of applying for grant money to support this work.
If you are interested, please contact Professor Susan Healy (susan.healy[at]st-andrews.ac.uk) and Sophie Edwards (se30[at]st-andrews.ac.uk) with your CV and a brief cover letter explaining your motivation for this position.
